Hong Kong phone bid may be losing appeal in Singapore

Article Abstract:

Although Singapore Telecommunications was a contender in the bidding for Cable and Wireless HKT in Hong Kong, it may be backing out. Singapore Telecommunications does not believe the high price it would have to pay in order to out bid Pacific Century Cyberworks' bid for the company. It seems that Singapore may still try to make a competitive bid before the shareholders of Cable and Wireless HKT vote on a merger.
