If Shoe Won't Fit, Fix the Foot? Popular Surgery Raises Concern

Article Abstract:

Toe cleavage is a surgical procedure that helps women remove bunions to reduce the swelling in the big-toe joint so they can resume wearing high heels. It is considered cosmetic surgery that major professional organizations discourage. They believe that women should recognize that danger of certain kinds of shoes that force the toes to bend in unnatural directions.
