Inco, province inch toward deal on Voisey's Bay

The government of Newfoundland has resolved many issues regarding Inco Ltd.'s proposed nickel-processing project in Labrador's Voisey Bay. The project includes a $750 million metallurgical plant and a $600 million port/mining complex.

De Beers continues to plan Ont. mine

De Beers Canada is moving forward with its plans to construct the first diamond mine in Ontario, Canada. The "Victor project" mine, which has not yet moved into the feasibility phase, will be built in Attawapiskat, Ontario.

Kidd Creek to become world's deepest base metal mine
