JDS Uniphase Corp. completed its acquisition of SDL Inc., and also stated it expects to earn only 17 cents (U.S.) a share on revenue of roughly $1-billion by the end of March 2001. Most analysts had forecast 21 cents a share for the fiber-optics giant.
