The Smith Point Bar in Georgetown, frequented by President George W. BushEs twin daughters and most young White House staff members, and the evangelical Falls Church in the northern Virginia suburbs where prominent administration officials worship, are two places where the Bush cultural impact is most evident. An account on these two local institutions that provide an after-hours haven and networking opportunities are presented.

A troubling legal legacy

Article Abstract:

Legal experts believe that President Bill Clinton's personal conduct and Kenneth W. Starr's success at going after every lead have for ever changed the institution of presidency. Future presidents will be very careful in terms of who they trust. These are as a result of Starr's success in forcing testimony from Clinton's lawyers, his Secret Service agents, and the president himself.

Harriet Miers was asked to be candidate and campaign manager but it was clear to her that her chances of sitting on the Supreme Court were increasingly slim. Miers must now absorb the lessons of her failed bid in steering her successor through the Senate.
