Judge puts new pressure on airline creditors: Air Canada restructuring lags

Article Abstract:

The judge overseeing Air Canada efforts to restructure is trying to pressure the airline creditors to resolve outstanding issues by inviting them to decide whether to eliminate the insolvent airline in 2004. The judge's invitation appears at the end of a March 19, 2004 ruling in which he approved Air Canada's planned purchase of two Airbus A340-500 jets, called 'ultra-long-range,' wide-bodied aircraft capable of flying non-stop between Toronto and Hong Kong.
