Klein reverses Kyoto stand; now sees no peril to oil sands

Ralph Klein, the premier of Alberta, Canada, said that the Kyoto Protocol is no longer a threat to oilsands projects in the province. Klein said that the tight labor market is more of a threat than the Kyoto Protocol.

TrueNorth Energy shelves oil sands project

TrueNorth Energy L.L.P. has frozen its oil sands project because of increasing costs in the sector and weak capital markets. The project is valued at 3.5 billion Canadian dollars.
