Land of milk and money

Article Abstract:

Deregulation of Australia's fresh milk industry will likely make producers more beholden to market forces. Three companies processing 90% of Australia's milk are expected to seek national branding to increase sales and competitive practices that may lead to price wars. Deregulation is also expected to encourage product differentiation and innovation. Milk products advertising specific health benefits, such as added calcium, are also expected to proliferate.
