Life is lonely at the top for CEOs

Article Abstract:

Australian chief executive officers (CEO) have formed a support network to provide emotional and strategic support for intrinsically isolated executive positions. The network, The Executive Connection (TEC), has 550 members. Members state the objectivity of fellow CEOs and the lack of conflict of interest are a great aid in discussions. TEC discussions often precede presentations to a board of directors. TEC organizes monthly discussion groups of 12 CEOs, none of whom are in competing industries.
