Link to IBM helps pump up tech stock

The letters IBM appear to taking on the meaning 'Instant Big Money.' Small software developer MicroStrategy's announcement of a deal with IBM's consulting arm caused its stock value to jump 41% to increase MicroStrategy's market value by $684.1 million. During the week of Aug 14, 2000, the stock values of software developer Kana Communications and Juno Online Services also surged after they both announced deals with IBM.
