Article Abstract:

Computer scientists agree that as the global economy becomes more suffused with Internet technology there will be an increasing demand for more and reliable software. The 'software gap' will best be closed by new technology allowing non-programmers to program for themselves and new tools enhancing the productivity of programmers. Helping to close the gap will be the availability of software services via the Internet that will be customized for businesses and available from a wealth of global locations.
