Little League Innocence Fades in TV Glare

Article Abstract:

The ESPN, ABC and ESPN2 expanded coverage of Little League baseball games has created a new atmosphere for children's baseball.? The players are more aware that millions of baseball fans are watching them and are obviously concerned about?their image and performance.?Thirty-five games will be broadcast in the US and overseas because the new format allows for a championship game between the American and foreign winners. The question that lingers is whether the players can enjoy the games as children or if they feel pressured to imitate Major League professionals.
