Media buyers snubbing plan to boost homemade TV drama

Article Abstract:

Broadcasters could earn the right to air between 30 seconds and eight minutes of additional advertising for each hour of original Canadian drama they broadcast under the policy unveiled in the first week of December 2004 by the CRTC. Since the extra ad minutes would not have to run during the Canadian dramas, broadcasters would likely use the minutes during the most popular U.S. prime time programs.
