Tritech Precision, which is led by president and chief executive officer William Ferguson, is involved in the aerospace castings industry.

Midland put itself on 'watch': deal brings challenge to bank-owned brokerages

Merrill Lynch & Co. Inc. is buying Midland Walwyn Inc. for $1.26 billion to heat up the competitive Canadian investment industry, revealed industry insiders. RBC Dominion Securities Inc. president and chief operating officer Reay Mackay noted that the new Merrill Lynch Canada would become a new competitor in the business. Loewen Ondaatje McCutcheon Ltd. chairman and CEO Garrett Herman is optimistic that Merrill Lynch Canada would be competing with bank owned brokerage dealers with positive benefits for consumers.
