Midnight Oil & Gas Ltd. wants to become Daylight Energy Trust, announcing a $350-million deal to buy the Canadian assets of Vintage Petroleum Inc. Daylight Energy Trust plans to pay out around 70 percent of its net cash flow to unitholders, choosing, like other new trusts, to pay out less money so that more money is available for capital spending, for which it is using $145-million of bank credit.
