Article Abstract:

In early April, 1999, the Albanian Kosovars were under siege from Slobodan Milosevic's Serb forces that were burning villages and killing at random in outlying areas of Kosovo. US President Clinton ordered air strikes against the Serbs, who redoubled their attacks on the Albanians. Clinton must balance his objectives in Kosovo with preserving NATO's unity.

The road to peace

Article Abstract:

NATO ordered an end to 78 days of bombing that forced Serbian troops to retreat from Kosovo, Yugoslavia. British troops began to enter the province, and were suddenly outflanked by 200 Russian troops. Moscow's move appears to have propaganda as its primary motivation. The bombing campaign cost approximately $4 bil, but the occupation costs will be greater.
