Article Abstract:

Australia's federal Liberals have adopted the slogan 'Heading in the right direction,' which was first used by Queensland Premier Peter Beattie as he began the Labor Party's campaign for the state election in Feb 2001. Federal Liberal director Lynton Crosby states that Labor cannot really claim to own the slogan because it used another in most of its election material and direct mail.

Putting real meat in Labor's pie

Australian Labour Party leader, Kim Beazley, needs to regain his credibility and focus if voters are to take him seriously as an alternative prime minister in the next election. Two key points he must address are the tensions between would-be ALP president John Della Bosca and party secretary Gary Gray, and to appoint a strong chief of staff for his office.
