Music giant in the making

The proposed $20 billion merger between United Kingdom's EMI Group PLC and New York, NY-based Time Warner Inc. represents a giant leap forward in the consolidation of the music industry. Time Warner, which earlier had announced a $160 billion with Dulles, Va.-based America Online Inc., expects to name the new company Warner EMI.
