Nakatani sees role as ambassador

Toyota Canada Inc., which is the fifth-largest car manufacturer in Canada, has announced that its president, Yoshio Nakatani, will resign. Mr. Nakatani, who has been appointed as the new chairman of Toyota Canada, will work with the federal and provincial governments on a broad range of issues.

Investors invited but CEO stays home

Article Abstract:

Placer Dome Inc., which is led by chief executive officer Jay Taylor, has been disrupted by fears over SARS. The company's annual meeting, which will not be attended by Mr. Taylor, is scheduled to be held in Toronto, Ontario, which has been greatly impacted by the disease.

Toyota's Nakatani takes chairman role

Article Abstract:

Toyota Canada Inc. has announced that Yoshio Nakatani will resign as president in order to assume the duties of chairman of the board of director. Toyota Canada, which has appointed Kenji Tomikawa as the auto maker's new president, is owned by japan's Toyota Motor Corp.
