Names are a Mutual affair, company says

Article Abstract:

Mutual Life Assurance Co. of Canada, based in Waterloo, Ontario, could be close to choosing a new name it will use when it becomes public in 1999. The company applied to the Canadian Intellectual Property Office to reserve the Clarica, Claricord, Sentrion and Synera names, which it could use for the renewed company. Mutual Life, a company offering life and health insurance, segregated and mutual funds, lease financing and mortgages, is awaiting the decision of around 800,000 participating policyholders to decide on the demutualization of the company as well as the new name that would adopted.
