Navigating the sea of sports trivia; several electronic approaches to facts and figures about your favorite event

Article Abstract:

La Crescenta, CA-based Knowledge Adventure's $79.95 Sports Adventure data base and computer game provides CD-ROM-like performance in a software package. Trivia and serious information about baseball, football, hockey, basketball, tennis, golf, boxing and the Olympics is accessed either through a keystroke or a mouse click on an MD-DOS microcomputer with an EGA or better monitor. The software takes up 6Mbytes of hard disk space and requires 340 Kbytes of available memory for operation. There is also a reference library reached by clicking on a question mark that provides an alphabetical card catalog. A quiz game, for one or two players, runs at various level of difficulty. The sound achieves better effect by using an accessory sound device rather than the built-in PC speaker. Santa Monica, CA-based Voyager debuts Baseball's Greatest Hits, a $79.95 CD-ROM disk with all sorts of text, graphics, sound and video-based information.
