Price Tag Of Guidant Is Lowered

Johnson & Johnson will pay $21.5 billion to acquire medical device manufacturer Guidant Corp. This is $4 billion less than the original offer, because of Food and Drug Administration warnings about defective implantable heart devices made by Guidant Corp.
