Novel trend must prove it's got the write stuff

Article Abstract:

Electronic books, such as the about-to-be launched Softbook and Rocket eBook, are about to change the way one usually read books. Electronic books are designed with a simple on-screen menu to facilitate easy reading. With a black-on-white, touch-sensitive screen, readers can slip in bookmarks, mark up pages, search a whole book by just typing a key word and create dog-eared pages. Readers can also make the type on the page bigger to facilitate easy reading. However, since they are still quite expensive, a Softbook will reportedly cost $299, electronic books need to prove their usefulness first before it could eventually replace book publishing.
