OSC says Sorbara wasn't muzzled

Article Abstract:

The Ontario Securities Commission announced that Royal Group Technologies Ltd is under investigation by securities regulators, the RCMP and federal tax officials. The OSC stated that there was nothing to stop Ontario Finance Minister Greg Sorbara from telling the Premier about an investigation into Royal Group Technologies Ltd disputing his claims that securities laws forced him to remain silent on a probe that had the potential to implicate.

Mounties, regulators investigate Royal Group: Controversy dogs building products firm.

Ontario securities commission and federal tax authorities are conducting investigation about the Royal Group Technologies Ltd's financial affairs and suspicious trading in its shares. It is found that Royal Group has operations in North and South America, Europe and Asia and that its sales totaled $1.9 billion in 2003.

Acres loses appeal on bribery charge in Lesotho

Article Abstract:

Oakville, Ont.-based Acres International Ltd., which is an engineering company, faces a $2.8 million fine related to a bribery case. Acres, which lost an appeal to have its bribery conviction reversed, had sought contracts for a $3.3 billion water project.
