Of peace and poison

Article Abstract:

The Vietnamese government claims as many of 600,000 Vietnamese are reaping the side effects of exposure to defoliants unleased by US warplanes during the Vietnam War. More than 20 million gallons of chemical herbicides were sprayed over the country from 1961-1971, of which 60% is said to have been Agent Orange. The US government and chemical manufacturers attribute the miscarriages, birth defects, chronic illnesses and early deaths to a lack of health care, malnutrition and disease.
