Oil's quiet on the western front

Article Abstract:

The US President George W. Bush's goal to replace more than 75% of oil imports from the Middle East by 2025 obscures the fact that the superpower has no credible strategy in the war for crude. The president has informed that the country's oil addiction would be addressed by developing competitive ethanol from corn, wood chips, stalks and switch grass.

China has become the world's second largest oil importer and to satisfy its oil demands, China is aggressively searching for overseas oil suppliers. China is now involved in building and maintaining good relations with the oil rich countries like Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Sudan and Angola.

China slows down

Article Abstract:

The Chinese economy is showing evidence of retreating from a boom widely viewed by economists as unsustainable. Falling prices and profits, and a drop in the country's demand for oil imports signal that the breakneck boom is shifting to a safer speed.
