Old foe, new hope: reducing the complications of diabetes

Article Abstract:

A ten-year research study of insulin-dependent diabetics has found that the use of intensive treatment is far more effective in preventing complications than conventional treatment. The study found a that diabetics who kept blood sugar levels under control had 50% less complications than those who did not.

Approximately 40% of all Canadians will rely on the income from private pensions. There is controversy over the administration of many plans. Many employers have withdrawn surpluses from plans: unions insist that the funds in plans belong solely to workers as a from of deferred wages.

Revenue Minister Otto Jelinek said the government will introduce new regulations that will aid Canadians who currently go to the US to shop. Citizens shop in the US because it it less expensive.
