Ontario unveils e-biz act

IBM Canada Ltd. has praised a new law in Ontario that gives electronic contracts the same legal status as hand-signed legal documents. Ontario's Electronic Commerce Act was announced by Attorney-General Jim Flaherty.

Newfoundland Premier Brian Tobin and Ontario Premier Mike Harris are fighting over how government negotiations with Inco should be handled.

Ontario rejects pleas for major expansion of electricity price cap

Article Abstract:

John Baird, Canada's Energy Minister, said that the expansion of the frozen electricity price program would only apply to a small number of energy consumers. The program, which sets the electricity price at 4.3 cents per kilowatt-hour, will apply to 7,000 more electricity consumers in Ontario.
