Osteology and phylogeny of a new species of Araripesuchus (Crocodyliformes: Mesoeucrocodylia) from the Late Cretaceous of Madagascar

Article Abstract:

A set of five individuals, including a nearly complete animal, three partial skulls and post-cranial remains, in combination with several CT-scans is used to study and describe the osteology and phylogeny of a new species of Araripesuchus from the late Cretaceous of Madagascar. Results give a comparative analysis of the old and the new forms of the taxon, hence showing that the new form differs from the old one because of the presence of four different autapomorphies in them.

Romanian Late Cretaceous dinosaurs: Big dwarfs or small giants?

Article Abstract:

Many arguments suggest that the Late Cretaceous dinosaurs from Transylvania were affected by dwarfism as a consequence of their evolution in an insular habit, however, several bones from Nopesa's collections housed in London and Budapest show that some Transylvanian saltasaurids reached lengths of 10-15m. Thus no conclusive evidence exists of island-related dwarfism among dinosaurs.

The Miocene birds of Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) with a discussion of the age of modern species and genera

Article Abstract:

The first systematic description of bird bone remains from Miocene localities in Abu Dhabi is presented. The presence of a modern genus in the Miocene has prompted a discussion of the maximum age of modern genera in the fossil record, which in many cases appears to be Neogene.
