Pushing the envelope for creative violence

Article Abstract:

Raven Software has developed a new video game called 'Soldier of Fortune.' This first-person game allows the player to inflict specific wounds like cutting of heads and shooting off legs and arms. Or, if you like, you can shoot your enemy in the head that would be an instant kill and you can even see guts poking out of certain wounds. The gore in this game has reached unprecedented levels.

Oh, yes! The lemmings are back! Oh, no!

Article Abstract:

In Lemming Revolution, the player tries to shepherd a group of lemmings through 100 levels. This version of the computer game has some 3-D rendering. Specialized lemmings build or survive the hazards the game generates to prevent progress to the next level. The game has the simpler feel of earlier games. But it uses several MB's of harddisk space and requires a 266 MHz Pentium PC, running Windows 95 or 98.
