Hollinger International Inc.'s special board committee accused David Radler and Conrad Black of looting the company. However, David Radler stated that millions of dollars of management fees paid through Lord Black's holding company Ravelston Corp. were made with the knowledge and approvals of Hollinger's International Audit committee and board.

Conrad Black's Hollinger International was a 'corporate kleptocracy', report says: Are criminal, civil charges next?

Authorities, on the behest of the former U.S. securities observer Richard Breeden, are pursuing criminal and civil charges against media baron Conrad Black and top associates for allegedly looting the newspaper empire, Hollinger International Inc. Breeden, working for Hollinger International's board of directors, detailed what he dubbed a seven-year pattern of 'corporate kleptocracy' by Lord Black and others in a 513-page report, titled the 'Hollinger Chronicles'.
