Article Abstract:

The Presidential Elections of Ukraine were considered to be fraud after Viktor Yushchenko was elected as the new president. 500,000 Ukrainians gathered in Kiev and hundreds of thousands in other Ukrainian cities to protest the election results and hence the high court on December 3, 2004 indicated that the election is tainted and ordered a new runoff between the two candidates namely, Viktor Yushchenko and Leonid Kuchma on December 26, 2004.

An Executive Director of The Campaign Finance Institute argues in favor of using public funds for presidential campaigns. While a Director of the Center for Representative Government, the CATO Institute, states that taking public funds restricts candidates' spending limits.
