After the terrorist attacks of September 11, the government has been concerned with cyberterrorism. Computer viruses, if not prevented, could cause strife in all areas of American life. Many experts in the field of cyberterrorism fear that terrorists could use computer hacker skills to disable systems in the United States.

Efforts to Stop Music Swapping Draw More Fire

The recording industry's all-out war on piracy via online music trading has spawned a lawsuit and an investigation by the U.S. Senate's Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations' Chairman Norm Coleman.? The recording industry has subpoenaed countless records from Internet service providers in its fight against piracy.? SBC Communications in turn has filed a lawsuit against the industry saying its tactics are in violation of subscribers' due process rights.? Sen. Norm Coleman has launched an investigation to determine if the industry's tactics violate people's right to privacy.
