A 1998 police raid of Starnet Communications in Vancouver, Canada, revealed the company's illegal activities, such as gambling, distribution of pornography and money laundering. U.S. Customs Service and the Internal Revenue Service are investigating Starnet, while the president of the company, Paul Giles, has moved operations to Antigua, in the Caribbean, away from Canadian and American regulators.

A new Olympics mess

This article examines evidence of improper or illegal lobbying tactics by organizers of Atlanta's 1996 Summer Olympic Games. Relevant points include the apparent use of these improper tactics, such as picking up the tab for expensive shopping trips, to influence members of the International Olympic Committee so that they would select Atlanta to host the 1996 games.
