Shock jocks: Ethnic humor's no joke for amateurs

Professional comedians develop a sense of how far they can go to get a laugh without crossing the line into language that the audience perceives as insulting rather than funny. A historical account of the use of ethnic humor in American comedy is presented.

Shock jocks: Is ethnic and racial humor dangerous?

An argument against the use of ethnic humor states it is harmful to members of the targeted groups as well as to society as a whole, while a supporter of ethnic humor claims such ironic humor is what holds a multiethnic society together.
