Article Abstract:

The number of art dealers using the Internet as a way of promoting and selling their products has significantly increased. They have made this strategic move in response to art lovers' preference to use the World Wide Web in making transactions rather than visiting stuffy galleries. Online retailers and auction houses offers all types of art from mass-produced posters to those done by old art masters.

Hooked on 'Millionaire'

Article Abstract:

The overwhelming popularity of ABC Broadcast Group's new 'Who Wants to be a Millionaire' television game show appears to be a phenomenon that is affecting an entire country and a broad spectrum of US society. The high- tech, multiple choice quiz show features contestants who answer a series of 15 questions that will potentially lead to a prize of $1 million. The program averages more than 23 million viewers a night. The toll-free telephone number by which people might win the chance to become a contestant has logged millions of calls in Nov 1999 alone, according to ABC.

Shoppers crave a bit of the bubbly

Retailers across the US are stocking indoor table-top fountains as shoppers crave for a cheap form of sensory therapy during anxious times. Marketed as `stress relievers,' the fountains appear to be one of the most sought after gifts for the holiday season. Previously found only in elite gift shops for $200 to $1,000, the relaxation fountains are now sold at department stores, discount chains, grocery stores and hardware superstores for as little as $29.95.
