Signs of life in e-commerce. Online travel is active despite economy and terror

Article Abstract:

The online travel business is doing surprisingly good business, despite the lagging economy, plane crashes and fear of terrorism. Online travel has been the Internet oddity for a year, showing profits for customers who love the convenience and access to cheap fares. As airlines are bleakly looking for cost cuts, they are encouraging online sites. Priceline, Travelocity and Expedia are showing profits and Orbitz is succeeding with its low-fare pitches, especially after September 11. Sadly, BizTravel.com is not healthy because business travel is down.
