Softwood duty will aggravate U.S. slump, Pettigrew warns

Pierre Pettigrew, the trade minister of Canada, cautioned the United States that its imposition of a trade duty on Canadian softwood exports would worsen the economic slowdown in the U.S. The U.S. imposed a 19.3% duty on softwood exports from Canada.
