Some new car styles break the mold

Article Abstract:

Cadillac Motor Car Div will unveil its futuristic four-door concept sedan, the Cadillac Imaj, at the 70th Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland. The unveiling of the concept car is aimed at updating the division's stuffy image and making its products more appealing to younger car buyers. The Cadillac Imaj was designed at General Motors' Concept Design Studios in Birmingham, England, by Simon Cox, the designer best known for the Isuzu VehiCROSS.

Chrysler tops off Cruiser line with kicky convertible

Article Abstract:

The Chrysler Group will introduce a convertible version of its ultra- popular PT Cruiser at the New York Auto Show. The PT Cruiser ragtop, which follows other auto show concept derivatives of the popular retro vehicle, is evidence that the company's president, Dieter Zetsche, has no intention of cutting back on interesting new cars. Chrysler has already shown concepts for a three-door Cruiser panel van and a turbo-charged GT Cruiser.

New Cruiser stirs Beetle-like buzz

Article Abstract:

Chrysler Corp's new 2001 model PT Cruisers will hit showrooms late in Mar 2000. The models are blends of 1930s and 1940s' styles with their custom- car stance, show-car interior details, minivan versatility and commercial- truck styling which are already attracting 600,000 Web site visits and 300,000 requests for information since they debuted in Jan 1999 at the Detroit automobile show.
