New York Attorney-General Eliot Spitzer has issued subpoenas to several top US life and health insurers, in order to uproot marketing abuses throughout the insurance industry. Mr.Spitzer would investigate at how life, health, homeowners' and auto-insurance policies are sold to consumers, including allegations of excessive premiums and rigged bids.
