Seth Shostak, is working on ways to find out extraterrestrials with the SETI (Search for Extraterrestrials Intelligence) Institute. The Allen Telescope Array, equivalent to a gigantic radio dish has independent mechanism that enables it to rotate at any point in the sky and is likely to shorten the timeframe of finding an extraterrestrial.

Fed Sat was constructed near Canberra with its Australian components supplemented by foreign contributions.
