U.S. whips Canada in a cancer-care race

New York, NY-based FitzPatrick Cancer Center is building a new $1.2 million linear accelerator. The project, which will be used to provide radiation treatment to cancer patients, will address growing number of patients coming from Canada.

Nurses hear the siren song of Canada

Canadian nurses are starting to return home after working in the US because Canadian hospitals are offering better salaries, full-time employment and better benefits. Many Canadian nurses believe the quality of life is better in Canada than in the US.

Study says women wait longer for needed breast-cancer surgery

A new breast cancer study by researchers at Canada's McGill University Health Centre reveals that over half of the women with breast cancer must wait at least six weeks for surgery. The report, which was authored by Dr. Nancy Mayo, was published in the Canadian Medical Association Journal.
