Sun Life CEO maintains stiff upper lip through MFS mess

Donald Stewart, the chief executive officer of Sun Life Financial Inc.'s Boston-based mutual fund unit, Massachusetts Financial Services Co. emerged from a clash with US regulators over allegations of improper trading. As a result, Stewart is struggling to contain the damage, and prevent client defections that have affected other companies racked by the industry-wide investigation.

Sun Life, fund arm hit by lawsuit

Sun Life Financial Inc. and its Boston-based mutual fund arm, Massachusetts Financial Services Co. are charged with class-action lawsuit that alleges they allowed favored clients to engage in illegal and improper trading practices. The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission shall take an enforcement action against it as informed.
