Technology defies another dictum; shares unaffected by higher rates

Article Abstract:

For at least a year, technology stocks have defied the theory that stocks should fall when interest rates rise. Rates are higher than in late 1998 even in the face of a two-week Treasury bond rally. The Nasdaq Composite Index has tripled in less than 18 months. Still, economists and analysts still hope to make a case that a rise in interest rates is bad for the market.
