That's poetic justice: France embraces its hottest new black pop group

Article Abstract:

French popular music group Poetic Lover is the first black band to be successful with the mostly white record-buying public in France. Music in France is the love songs of Maurice Chevalier and Edith Piaf. Western popular forms like rap and heavy metal have not found a significant audience in France. Poetic Lover offers a non-threatening blend of Anglo-Saxon and French cultures. Their success has prompted them to consider releasing an English version of their record, 'Amants Poetiques'.
