The big man lets fly

Article Abstract:

Photographic evidence and a description are presented of a 1987 Australian rules football match in which Geoff Clark, the captain-coach of Victoria's Western District team Purnim, is seen to attack numerous members of the opposing team, Noorat. Clark, who is the current chairman on the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Commission, has been accused of rape, but complains that he is a victim of "trial by media."

Play it again, Sam

Article Abstract:

Digital video discs (DVD) are expected to replace videotape technology since they produce clearer pictures and better sound quality than videotapes. Since a DVD can encode information like a computer disc, the viewer can select a scene from a menu or watch alternate scenes. DVD players are expected to be able to record TV programs by 2001.

Battle of Helengrad

Article Abstract:

The 2005 elections in New Zealand pitted Prime Minister Helen Clark against National Party leader Don Brash, arguably the country' starkest electoral choice in two decades. The rise of the Maori Party further complicated the possibilities of a coalition between Labor and other minor parties by creating what is known as an 'overhang'.
