The bull is back: cash-starved companies rush to issue stocks as low interest rates heighten market demand

Article Abstract:

Canadian investors have begun to purchase stocks in hopes of achieving greater return on their investments. The increase in popular interest has helped companies that have restructured as much as they can gain more cash. Investors believe that Canadian stocks are undervalued compared with other stocks.

Bulls of summer

Article Abstract:

A strong bull market, led by high technology issues, has propelled North American stock indexes to new heights in the summer of 1995, but some analysts doubt that the bullish trend is sustainable. Several unusual stock market indicators are described, including the so-called doughnut factor.

A mother lode of cash: Canada is now the centre of the international capital market for mining companies

Article Abstract:

The mining industry is booming in Canada as witnessed by the success of Bre-X Minerals and Diamond Fields Resources. Mining represented 22% of new equity issues in 1995, and around 35% in the first three months of 1996. Some foreign mining firms are also listing stock in Canada.
