Hudson's Bay Co (HBC) celebrated its 325th anniversary in May 1995, but the HBC of today no longer resembles the great corporation of the past. HBC's departure from the fur trading industry in Jan 1991 is the principal reason for the firm's perceived decline in stature and prestige.
