Maclean's 13th annual poll of Canadians found most people are concerned with pragmatic issues such as jobs and health care, and their expectations of government and social services have diminished. Poll results on politicians, deficits, Quebec, crime and other issues are presented.

Maclean's 13th annual poll reveals that Canadians have mixed feelings about deficits and spending cuts. Concern over government spending was rated the second most important economic problem behind unemployment, but many of those surveyed were unhappy with drastic budget cutbacks.
