Article Abstract:

In the foreign exchange market, on January 5, 1999, rupee strengthened against dollar by 5-6 paise. Rupee kept firming up all through the day and closed at 42.51/52. On January 4, 1999 the rupee had closed at 42.57/58 against the dollar. On January 5, the State Bank of India offered dollars at 42.58 constantly. This pushed other banks to sell dollars at lower rates. Added to this, constant inflow of dollars stored in the nostro accounts of banks helped rupee gain against the dollar. (um)

Performance reviews

Article Abstract:

Performance reviews should form part of a performance management process designed to encourage employees to work more effectively. Performance reviews can also benefit individual employees by assisting them with managing their careers and assessing areas where they need to develop. It is important to prepare properly for a performance review meeting. The meeting should not be used to air long-standing grievances, but care should also be taken to ensure that problems are not ignored.
